Emerce100 – Interview Hexspoor

The boutique among fulfilment companies

Interview Hexspoor

Custom solutions, continuity, genuine social engagement, and personal contact — that’s what sets this 75-year-old family-run e-fulfilment company apart from the competition. It’s no coincidence that it consistently ranks among the top e-fulfilment providers.

Hexspoor E-fulfilment isn’t exactly small. Around one hundred employees work daily across four locations in Boxtel, serving international clients such as Amnesty International. And yet, it’s fair to describe the company as a boutique operation. This family-run business is personal and customer-focused, backed by years of experience and expertise, and offers truly bespoke solutions. “That’s how we’ve always done it. It’s in our DNA,” says Commercial Director Susanne Bolck.

While the e-fulfilment market is increasingly shaped by mergers and acquisitions, Hexspoor remains true to its own traditions. “Many companies focus on volume and efficiency, with scaling up as the norm. We’ve made a conscious choice to prioritise tailored solutions and stay true to who we are,” Susanne explains. “We’re reliable and dedicated, with sustainability and social responsibility at the heart of everything we do. Not because we have to — but because it’s who we are.”

No off-the-shelf solutions, but a tailored system that grows alongside the client

That’s also why the company actively invests in the local community. Susanne explains: “We sponsor local clubs, but we also offer opportunities to local status holders to work with us. And everyone comes to work by bike – because they all live nearby. During Covid, we had no trouble scaling up quickly. Our team is engaged and highly adaptable.”

Hexspoor has been a family business for three generations – long before the internet even existed. “Gerard Hexspoor Sr. started a bookbinding business in 1946. We were the final step in the production chain, which made us experts at shipping books all over the world,” says Susanne. “Over the past 25 years, we’ve fully focused on e-fulfilment, and now we ship a wide range of premium products.”

The company builds fulfilment services like a modular system. “Every element – from storage methods and data flows to process design – is carefully assembled and tailored to the customer’s specific needs,” Susanne explains. “We do much more than packing boxes. We don’t offer off-the-shelf solutions, but a perfectly fitted system that grows with our clients’ organisations. For us, one-size-fits-all simply doesn’t exist.”
