Like many logistics companies, Hexspoor experiences a peak period each year. During this time, the workload is, on average, twice as high compared to the rest of the year. In the logistics sector, it’s common to rely on temporary workers to handle peak demand. However, we’ve noticed that maintaining the quality of our processes with temporary staff can sometimes be a challenge.
This year, we took a different approach. In addition to the efforts of our own Hexspoor team, which works tirelessly to ensure orders are processed on time, we entered into a staffing agreement with Toppy.
Toppy is a garden and outdoor webshop—an e-commerce company specializing in pool supplies that experiences a massive summer peak. Toppy’s quieter winter period aligns perfectly with Hexspoor’s peak season, allowing Toppy’s TOP team to jump right in and get to work with us.
Many refugees work at Toppy: individuals who have had to leave their home countries due to unsafe situations. Both Hexspoor and Toppy have observed that these employees are highly motivated and demonstrate an excellent work ethic. In this way, we also hope to contribute to their integration into Dutch society. Many of these workers are taking Dutch language courses, further improving their future opportunities.
This collaboration with Toppy and providing opportunities for refugees aligns with our values. We are extremely proud of our Toppy Team for helping us through this busy period—it truly has been TOP. We look forward to continuing and expanding partnerships like this in the future.
